Organic Fertiliser Application Rates for Native Plants
This guide outlines organic fertiliser application rates for native plants under Australian conditions. It covers soil preparation, planting, establishment feeding, and ongoing nutrition designed to support healthy growth while respecting the naturally lower nutrient requirements of Australian native plants.
Organic native plant care: preparation and ongoing feeding

Our products are commercial grade, certified organic, and up to five times more concentrated than most products on the market. One 9-litre watering can covers approximately 8–10 sqm, compared to the typical 2–4 sqm, meaning you use less, get better coverage, and save timeand money.
You can’t overdo it with our products, so there’s no need to be overly precise when measuring. All liquid products can be mixed, just don’t leave them premixed, as some inputs may settle at the bottom of the watering can.
Preparing a natvie garden bed
Step 1: Base nutrition
- Incorporate Nutrient Rock Star at approximately 125 g per sqm (a small handful per square metre) when turning in a new garden bed (into the top 50-100mm with soem good quality compost
Step 2: At planting
- Water in well with Happy Gut Tonic
(10–20 ml per 9 L watering can – covers approx. 10 sqm) - Water off any residue on leaf litter to prevent sunburn
- Happy Gut Tonic stimulates early root development for stronger, tougher plants
Step 3: 2 weeks after planting
- Apply The Protein Shake (100% pure fish)
(20–40 ml per 9 L) - Water off residue
- Supports early establishment and growth
Step 4: Ongoing establihsment feeding
- Alternate Happy Gut Tonic and The Protein Shake weekly as a soil drench or foliar spray
- Apply Jurassic Juice (10ml) and Regenerate Elixir (10-20ml) monthly, alternating
Step 5: Mid-growth nutrition
- Apply Nutrient Rock Star as a light top dress around the base of plants
- Use just enough to lightly cover the soil
- Must be watered in
- Can be timed with liquid feeding to save water (optional)

Follow the steps above, replacing the incorporation of Nutrient Rock Star with a light top dress applied around the base of plants and watered in well.

My poor garden wasn't doing well. My citrus trees were dying. After the second week using these products my garden and trees look like new. New growth everywhere. I can't say enough about it. The instructions on the download and on the bottles are different so you need to think about what you're using, especially the amounts. Bit confusing
