Fixing Sandy, Hydrophobic & Clay Soil — The Soil Dynamics System
One simple routine to transform problem soil into healthy, water-retentive growing ground — whether you're rescuing an existing garden or starting fresh.
If water runs straight off your soil instead of soaking in, or your clay is so compacted nothing seems to grow properly, you're not alone — and it's fixable. Below is our complete system for turning problem soil around, based on what's actually happening beneath the surface.

Hydrophobic Soil Solution
Apply Nutrient Rock Star as a top dress at 2 handfuls per m² (approx. 250g) — supplies minerals and nutrients, plus bentonite, zeolite, and spongolite to combat water repellency.
Intensive 6-Week Program:
Week 1: Water in Nutrient Rock Star with Jurassic Juice at 50–100ml per 9L
Weeks 2–6: Continue Jurassic Juice at 50–100ml per 9L (weekly)
Weeks 7+: Reduce to fortnightly until you see improvement
Maintenance: Monthly applications year-round.
Summer Boost: Return to fortnightly during warmer months if you see signs of water repellency.
Continue rotating other liquid products alongside the Jurassic Juice throughout this program — you can mix our products throughout this time, so add Jurassic Juice in with all your other liquids for ease.
Clay and Compacted Soil Solution
Jurassic Juice helps open tight, compacted clay soils, allowing water, air, and nutrients to move freely. This improves soil structure, supports healthier root growth, and helps your fertiliser work more effectively.
Follow the same Initial Treatment and Intensive 6-Week Program as the Hydrophobic Soil Solution above, then continue with regular maintenance applications.

New Garden Beds & Pre- Planting Soil Prep
Building a new garden bed or starting with bare, poor, or sandy soil? Coastal Cure is a dig-in soil amendment — worked directly into the soil before planting, not top-dressed, so it can bond permanently with soil particles.
Incorporate Coastal Cure into the top 100–200mm of soil before planting:
General sandy soils: 500g–1kg per m²
Severe hydrophobic sand: 2–3kg per m²
Pots & containers: 1–2 cups per 20L of potting mix in concert ideally with 250gm per sm of Nutrient Rock Star.
Water in well after application.
Once planted, transition into the same Initial Treatment + Intensive 6-Week Program outlined above (Nutrient Rock Star + Jurassic Juice), to build and maintain the soil biology Coastal Cure has established.
Coastal Cure does the permanent structural work. Jurassic Juice then keeps your soil microbiome active long-term, building soil strucuture and continuing to unlock nutrients in your newly transformed soil. The Nutrient Rock Star will provide all the mienrals and nutreints as well that will aid inwith sand asn itcontains zeloite spongolite, bentonite (among many more ) but these all have the abilty to hold onto water .
